POST-INDEPENDENCE NU DYNAMICS TOWARDS THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE NU OUTLINE AS A DECISION OF THE SITUBONDO CONGRESS 1945-1984
Abstract This article aims to figure out the dynamics and social processes that experienced by NU in the period 1945-1984 until it decided to withdraw from practical politics in 1984. The reasons why NU do that decision will be found by elaborate those subjects. Meanwhile NU has been involved in practical politics for 39 years. It means that decision is not easy to accept immediately and create a big impact on both NU itself as an organization and other parties which bring interest in NU. It takes time to rearrange the organization with a large number of members. Furthermore, this article uses the historical method in the process. The steps of that methd are: topic selection, sources collecting, verification, interpretation, and historiography.
